What it is
Water you put on the lawn or garden never goes down the drain — so why pay sewer charges on it? From May 1 through September 30, the Summer Sprinkling Program calculates your sewer charges using your average winter water consumption, or your actual summer consumption — whichever is lower. Watering the lawn, filling a kiddie pool, or washing the car stops driving up the sewer side of your bill.
This program is not income based, but a few conditions apply:
- The property must be owner-occupied.
- It’s not open to renters or to properties held in the name of an LLC.
- The sewer bill must reflect charges from the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD).
FAQs
- Once signed up, you stay on the program for as long as you keep that sewer account — no need to reapply each year.
- To enroll, call customer service or complete the online application.
