What it is
Expectant mothers qualify for Medicaid at a higher income limit (200% FPL) than other adults — covering prenatal visits, delivery, and postnatal care for mother and baby. Once approved, coverage continues for 12 months after the pregnancy ends, regardless of income changes.
If you’re pregnant and uninsured (or your insurance has a high deductible), this coverage can run alongside an employer plan as secondary insurance in some cases.
How Gesher helps
Pregnancy Medicaid has different eligibility rules than other Medicaid categories. We can explain how this coverage works, review the eligibility criteria, discuss the documentation needed to apply, and guide you through the application and approval process. After your baby is born, contact Gesher and we’ll help ensure your child remains covered.
