Child Care Choice Voucher

Vouchers that help families who earn slightly too much for publicly funded child care — gross income between 146% and 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.

What it is

The Child Care Choice Voucher Program is Ohio’s answer for families who make just over the limit for Publicly Funded Child Care. If your gross income falls between 146% and 200% of the federal poverty guidelines, the voucher helps pay an eligible licensed provider of your choice.

Why it matters

Before this program, a small raise could cost a family their entire child care benefit. If you were denied publicly funded child care because of income — or turned down a raise to keep it — ask us about Child Care Choice.

How Gesher helps

We’ll screen you for both child care programs at once, so one application lands in the right place the first time — and re-screen at redetermination in case your income has shifted between the two.
